Gender And Immunization Demand Final Report and Recommendations

Designed for social and behaviour change (SBC), immunization and health teams, as well as national partners responsible for the planning and implementation of immunization demand efforts, this report provides guidance on how to integrate a gender perspective with concrete recommendations. The report starts by introducing demand generation in the context of immunization and the gender responsive continuum. Then, it outlines recommendations for integrating gender into immunization demand promotion activities using the SBC programme cycle as a framework. Illustrative examples are embedded throughout in order to make this resource user-friendly and actionable.

Scorecard to Assess Gender and Health Governance in Family Planning, Reproductive Health, and Maternal and Child Health Policies

While the importance of a gender lens for family planning/reproductive health and maternal and child health (FP/RH/MCH) policies and programs has been widely recognized, as of yet, most efforts to assess gender within these programs have focused on service delivery. This document presents a scorecard to aid in the review of how well gender is integrated into the governance of FP/RH/MCH policies and institutions. Based on the health governance triangle, the scorecard guides users through key indicators that look at the state, citizens, and providers, and provides a simple method for analyzing findings for useful dissemination.

Is Your Health System Adolescent- And Gender-Responsive?

Adolescent-responsive health systems intentionally transition the emphasis from creating separate adolescent-friendly spaces towards ensuring that all health services are responsive to the needs and rights of adolescents by incorporating adolescent-friendly elements that have demonstrated effectiveness into the health system. This tool can be used to inform work plans, national priority setting, and budgeting, as well as to measure and monitor a health system’s progress in meeting the needs and rights of adolescents of all genders over time.

Towards a Gender-Transformative Organisation: Toolkit for an assessment of organisational gender policies and practices

This toolkit was developed to support organisations, step-by-step, in their journey towards gender transformation. It contains a participatory gender self-assessment in 3 stages designed to assess the organisational commitments and practices, and to which extent they integrate a gender-transformative approach. It supports the process of self-reflection about how gender-transformative approaches are realised and practised within the organisation’s own structures and networks. It provides guidelines to take affirmative action through an Organisational Gender Action Plan (OGAP) which can be implemented and measured over time.

Monitoring and Evaluation Guidelines to track the effectiveness of an integrated gender-based violence service delivery at the GBVPU

The Monitoring and Evaluation Guidelines serves as a tool for NAMPOL, as the lead agency for auditing and to assess effectiveness of GBV services at GBVPU. It also provides guidelines and benchmarks to use to measure the effectiveness of the GBV services provided and provide the tools to needed do so.

Improving the collection and use of administrative data on violence against women

Administrative data is crucial to better understand violence against women (VAW) and to inform prevention and responses to VAW. This publication identifies eight steps for improving the collection and use of VAW administrative data and makes recommendations for data producers and policymakers.

Gender Preparedness and Response toolkit (GENPAR)

GENPAR, or the Gender in Infectious Disease Epidemic Preparedness And Response Toolkit, is a set of benchmarks and tools to integrate gender into select core capacities of the International Health Regulations (IHR) 2005. GENPAR provides a set of actions (WHAT to do) as well as a range of tools (HOW to do it) to achieve each benchmark in integrating gender into the preparedness and response capacities covered by the toolkit. Using GENPAR, gender can be integrated into selected capacities step-by-step.
